Classes, Registration and Information

Classes are offered in ballet, tap, pointe, modern and contemporary jazz, hip hop and tumbling to children ages 3 years to high school graduate. It is recommended that your child be potty trained before enrolling them in dance classes. There are some age requirements for certain classes such as pointe, hip hop and tumbling.

Registration for the 2015/2016 dance session opened in April. The Early Bird Registration fee is $40 per family and ends on May 31. After May 31, the price increases to $50 per family. Registration closes on Sept. 1.


Dance classes will begin the week of August 31, 2015 and will conclude at our annual recital scheduled for the end of May, 2016. Packets will be mailed in August to each registered student informing them of their class day and time, what to wear to class, studio rules, etc.

Class Definitions:
Primary (ages 3-4) - introduction to basic tap and ballet techniques and steps, learning to follow directions and dance with a group. Class is 1 hour per week (30 minutes of tap, 30 minutes of ballet)

Beginners (ages 5-6) - basic tap and ballet techniques and steps, and basic tumbling. Class is 1 hour and 30 minutes per week (30 minutes of tap, 30 minutes of ballet, 30 minutes of tumbling)

Intermediate (ages 7-8) - tap steps and combinations; basic jazz techniques and steps, leaps, turns. Class is 1 hour per week (30 minutes of tap, 30 minutes of jazz)

Intermediate Advance (ages 9-10) - more advanced tap steps and combinations; more advanced jazz techniques, steps, leaps, turns. Class is 1 hour per week (30 minutes of tap, 30 minutes of jazz)


Juniors (ages 11-13 or grades 6th-8th) - advanced tap steps and combinations; advanced jazz and contemporary techniques, steps, leaps, turns. Class is 1 hour and 30 minutes per week (30 minutes of tap, 1 hour minutes of jazz/contemporary)


Advanced (ages 14-18 or grades 9th-12th) - advanced tap steps and combinations; advanced jazz and contemporary techniques, steps, leaps, turns. Class is 1 hour and 30 minutes per week (30 minutes of tap, 1 hour minutes of jazz/contemporary)


Ballet (ages 7+) - focus is on proper ballet stretches, technique, turns and leaps. Class is 45 minutes per week


Pointe (ages 10+, with 3 yrs.  of prior ballet classes) - focus is on proper ballet stretches, technique, turns and leaps, all done on pointe shoes. Class is 45 minutes per week. This class requires that students purchase a pair of pointe shoes ($75 per pair, purchased through the studio)


Hip Hop I (ages 7-8); Hip Hop II (9-10) - basic hip hop steps and moves. Class is 30 minutes per week


Hip Hop III (ages 11-13 or grades 6th-8th) - more advanced hip hop steps and combinations. Class is 30 minutes per week


Hip Hop IV (ages 14-18 or grades 9th-12th) - very advanced hip hop steps and combinations. Class is 30 minutes per week


Gymnastics Beginner* - ages 7-9; class will learn basic tumbling (cartwheels, rolls, headstands, etc.)


Gymnastics Intermediate* - ages 10-12; class will learn more advanced tumbling (at each child’s level/ability)


Gymnastics Advanced* - ages 13+; class will learn more advanced tumbling (at each child’s level/ability)


*Students enrolled in gymnastics classes will be required to practice and perform the tricks taught; they are not allowed to just sit*
